The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) is the government agency responsible for managing Jamaica’s civil registration and national identification systems. NIRA plays a critical role in registering vital events such as births and deaths, and managing identity records.

To carry out these responsibilities effectively, NIRA is led by an Executive Director, supported by two Deputy Executive Directors, a skilled management team, and dedicated staff.
